Does the C drive the generator from the cam shaft like the Farmall B? If so then you may have troubles getting the alternator turned fast enough. What kind of troubles are you having ewith the 6 volt system? Its been working for 50 years so far. When you replace the battery cables you need to get fat ones, no import car cables are fat enough. Look for 2 or 1 gauge from NAPA. And then make sure the battery posts and other connections are CLEAN, with a wire brush and battery post and connect brush. After they are assembled cover then with grease to slow down corrosion, but expect to need to clean then annually or more often. Make sure the starter has good brushes and bearings too. Then it ought to run fine on 6 volts. Going to 12 volts you have to replace the lamps too. Gerald
