Propane companies appear to be a funny business from what I've seen and what I'm hearing. The place I bought a few months ago has a 500 gallon tank. Figured the old owner owned it, at least that was the impression I'd gotten from them. Well, turns out their suppler is the same company my brother-in-law works for. Right out of the block, I've gotta get my propane through him, at his rate, no one else can touch it, blah, blah, blah. Hey, he's my brother-in-law, what do I know. OK, I do. I got a one year contract in the mail, to lease "their" tank, and they sent a guy to fill me up to 400 gallons (80% tank max). OK. It had 150 gallons in it to begin with, and they billed me for that. I didn't say anything, he's my brother-in-law, but I'm guessing the original owners already paid for it once. But, he's family, my sister's husband, so I keep my mouth shut to keep peace. Then they fill me to 400, and I got billed about a $1.00 a gallon, and that's good, because without his break it's almost double. Good deal. Problem is that my brother-in-law's one of those guys that always knows better than anyone, everyone, including the boss. Never stays at one place long - doesn't get fired, just doesn't let dust settle on his shoes long. Now is talking about leaving those guys, and without his break, is one of the highest suppliers on the market. So high in fact, is/are losing customers left and right, and told me that farmers in his 3 state region that are contracted and can't afford LP prices for their driers have turned corn under to cut their losses.

Between everyone here and the wall, %3@(*&^@?"^$# that $&^%#@)(!!!!, but when I'm with the family, I keep my mouth shut, because he's family, my sister's husband.
