When I rebuilt my 1938 F14, the engine had been stuck for years. I wanted to check the oil pump to see if it needed to be replaced. After taking it apart and cleaning it thoroughly, and inspecting for any obvious problems, I reassembled it and immersed the pickup in a small pan of clean oil. I then attached the chuck of a small variable speed drill to the drive spindle and spun it up. Got a good solid stream of oil out the discharge, so assumed it was good and reused it successfully. These tractors didn't have a lot of PRESSURE, but they do need a fair VOLUME of oil. I'd say if you can do the same thing, you're in good shape. I believe you'll find that most "failed" oil pumps are due to a broken drive, so it should be quite obvious if it's broken.
