Case 630 rare? Case-O-Matic question

I own a Case 630 gas equiped with the Case-O-Matic transmission. This tractor has been in the family for years. We have trouble puting the tractor in gear with out grinding the gears. The clutch pressure is good during operation and it drops donw to the bottom 1/4" of the scale when the clutch is depressed. You can hold the cluth in for for long periouds of time and it dosn't seem to make shifting easier. I haven't been driving this tractor long but it seems to me that the clutch should dissengage better then that. If any one has any expirence with Case-O-Matic's please let me know what the normal operation of this machine should be.
I have also been told that this is a rare tractor.
I would appreciate any help.
