can someone help me

I converted a 620 john deere to a alterator system and now cant get it to charge if some one could show me were all the wires go I might be able to figure this out When I turn on the lights it shows a 20am decharge when I run the wires the other way it show a 20am charge its a new alterntor and with the old one it did work but suddenly it wouldnt start unless I took the wire of the alterntor that was to excite it. thats when I noticed it wasnt charging so now Iam confused totally any help would be welcome Phillip_Julch@yahoo.com
