Sometimes they place the spy-bots when you exit a site. this way you always think that its the site you are entering that has the spy-bot when actual the site that you where just at has the spy-bot. This way you return to the site. Pop ups are different however. The redirect pop up different ads once you enter a site thinking that some one will click on the close button.X Then you get two more popup. Tips for surfing to avoid spy-bots and popup. When searching at google I use the cached pages to see what will be on the site before clicking on the link to the site. This cached page is just the HTML that was returned to Google as the search the web for content. This is stored on googles site. Free of spy ware, worms,popups sometime the pages are somewhat out of date but I can first view what the page has to offer before going to the site. I the site has alot of banners and little content I just click back. If you do get popup adds don;'t click on the X that you usally do this will just let them know that you are there. At that time they will get your ip address and so forth. Having an ip address is so bad if you have a firewall up. Cost is very little. if they do have your ip address trust me there scanning your open ports. When you install software(ever gone to a site an been prompted to download some software) this software opens communication ports that are sometimes easy to hack and then they hack your computer to do there nasty work. They dont want you to know that they are there. This is why a fire wall is important. The ip address that you see on my messages is the ip address of my router. not my machine. You will be scanning ports of my fire wall not my machine.

Latest scam is an email that looks as if it comes from Ebay. Says that you need to click on the link and at that time you go to a false ebay site. Where they ask for your user name and password. Any user name and password will work. This is to build you up to belive that this is the true ebays site. You ask your self how would they know my user name and password? They then ask for credit card information and mothers madin name, brith dates,and so on. if you are asked to by ebay for information use a false password to make sure they do know your correct password

There are many bad people out there. so please think twice.

Other helpful tip. If ads pops up on the screen. Do not click on the box to close it. don't vote who you think should be president and you are never the 1,000,000 vistor of a site. Use the mouse and in the task bar while hovering over the tab for that site click the right mouse button and then close the ie explorer that was open by the popup.
