O/T I'm Back

Well just got in from vacation today. What did I miss?? Glad to see Dillon is doing better; Our prayers are with you. Went to north Maryland to see our first grand child. Think I like this already. Held her for a week straight spoiling her then gave her to dad and told him; OH WELL if she starts crying to be held that’s your problem; We are going home now. (I can now finally pay my kids back. he!he!) Spent a couple of days being dragged by the wife to see D.C. It was interesting and OK just a lot of walking and to much hustle and bustle for me. Did get my turn to drag the wife into PA. to see the very beautiful county side and farms. Seen some old tractors here and there. Thing I noticed most was the steel wheels on in use tractors. Even newer ones. Don"t see that much at all around here. Went over to the Amish country. (Thanks Red Dave for the directions) Kinda feel sorry for them. Here they are just trying to go on with life and all these tourist (including me) wanting to be nosy and see every thing. Even if you take the horse and buggy thing out that has got to be the MOST BEAUTIFUL country side; farm land; and dairies I have ever seen. Learned a lot about others life styles.
Did find one thing very puzzling though. Now get this......
Amish do not have electricity because it brings TV and radio ect with it. I get that part.
But they had a diesel motor to run a compressor to milk cows and had running water. Even seen some with a gas lawn mower and a string weed eater.
Now if they can have a diesel to milk cows and pump water; Why can"t they have a diesel tractor ??????????? Just got me to thinking. Well any way just wanted to say hello and thanks to any one that lives in the southern PA northern MD area for the great hospitality. It is now time to go back to work so I can rest up for my next vacation. Boy I sure need a vacation from my vacation.
