Above all make it a safe celebration. Yesterday, the 3rd, I reflected on my late mother's birthdate as well as my ggg grandfather Jedediah Dorsett. Jedediah Dorsett fought for Independence during the Revolutionary War. I believe that I have other ancestors that did as well, but haven't gotten that far with the paperwork trail. Isaac Haines an ancestor was making muskets at that time. There is a John Barr that served during the Revolution, but is it the same John Barr that was my ggg grandfather? While 228 years sounds like a long time, when you looking at generations of ancestors it really wasn't that long ago. July 4th, the anniversary of the announcement of independence for our great nation. May freedom ring loud and long!
