That's the problem though. These tractors never come stock with 4wd as far as I know. I have tinkered with Ford 2000s, 2600s, 3000s, 3055s, 3600s, 4000s, etc. but never really seriously. Some had power steering, some had loaders, some had live PTOs, etc.

I'm actually leaning more toward a 2600. At 33 PTO HP it should be just what I need. I am a little partial to these, as we just bought and sold one. It was a GEM.

Basically I want this to be a notch or so above the Japanese compact tractors, because parts are much cheaper on these Fords (not to mention the tractors themselves are way cheaper).

Another reason I want to do these mods to a 2600-esch tractor is because I'm a 16 year-old in college, and I'm looking for a project that would keep me busy over the winter. I can pick up a sharp tractor for cheap in the late Fall/early Winter and be able to do the modifications without a whole lot of overhead.
