I've had one for 12 years. Getting ready to turn it into cash. Brakes aren't powered and take a lot of pedal pressure. I've had a drum off and found nothing to say other than I've just had to develop a stronger right thigh muscle to match the clutch pedal muscle and then I do get braking.

The front bushing is available from CT, like the I&t shop manual. The owner's manual I got from MF either Des Moines or Racine Wisc. I doubt either is open. CT also has seals for the lift cylinder which could be the problem why the three point won't stay up. Getting to it is somewhat of a pain. You need a small crane to pick up 200 or 300 pounds of lift cover to get to it. A three point that won't stay in position could simply be controls not being used correctly. For position, pull the draft lever all the way up, then you should get better position control. The draft lever is useful primarily when plowing with a 3 point plow so it sets the plow depth at a relatively constant pulling load for different soils. Its not useful with a bush hog. Its useful with a rear blade for grading smoothly. Then you pull the position lever all the way up and control the implement with the draft lever, but don't expect it to sit still.

I have a note in my parts book that I got a manual by calling Racine Wisconsin 414-636-8222. That was after calling Des Moines, probably about 1989. MF is long gone from Des Moines, I don't know about Racine. You might have to start with Agco Corp at Kansas City.

If you can't find manuals and parts locally, I'd give Rolling Plains Implement at Vernon Texas a call. I've found them very helpful on AC and MF parts by telephone. (800) 864-2871

The saga starts with the following message: Hey guys I have a decision to make. I know what you all will probably suggest and it will probably agree with me way down inside, but here it is. I have a picture blown up and framed in my "tractor room" of a Farmall M. It was my Grandpa's tractor, of which whom I never got to meet. He froze to death getting this tractor out of the barn to pull a truck out of the ditch before I was born. Anyway my dad and aunt had to sell it at the auction, ... [Read Article]
