About a month ago I sent several loads of US#2 heavy melt scrap steel mixed with <15% breakable castiron. It brought $125 a ton. Called yesterday and scrap was off about $15 a ton from the peak. As far as retail goes it seems the market is beginning to stabilize. My cost of new hot roll is running $.67 a pound. Tubing and plate at $.72. Aluminum is stabilizing, copper and nickel are still climbing, though.
