Did not know this; But it explains why I walked away from Kubota years ago! I found out after pricing a new "M-120" the horspower rating is based on actual engine hp which is 120hp... The PTO hp was 98... When You went to price a Case - IH, or a John Deere they were going by PTO hp as the advertised power where as Kubota went by engine power! The Kubota was a bit cheaper, & lighter than the others listed above till You compared the PTO hp alone, & suddenly it was more expensive! I wonder how many people have bought a Kubota in recent years only to be disappointed by its lack of power in a field! In my case I would have been buying a 98hp tractor instead of 120hp! I felt frauded by the manufacture, & still do!
