You have opened up the "can-o-worms" again. This
is fun when I see this posting. You just might
see some folks with maybe a little preference to
tractor brands. Choosing a tractor is as personal
as underware. My suggestion is listen to what
everyone posts. You will get a lot of good advice
and good natured kidding about what brand to pick.
There are some points you should make clear. Do
you want to tinker with an older tractor with
tremendous character, historical importance, and
aesthetic beauty. Do you want one where you will
have the adventure of hunting down rare and
valuable parts, and have the satisfaction of
saving this antique for posperity (I am describing
the best tractor ever built, the Oliver) or do you
want one that will start easy in the freezing
cold, and has more bells and whistles than a
bicycle parade? You ar talking a $10,000 hobby
tractor. By the way the best way to sell your
sweetie on the tractor is wait until winter when
the snow falls and give her the choice of his and
her snow shovels or his and her keys to the
tractor as you look down that 1000 foot drive. By
the way, if you have a thousand foot drive way and
two acres, is your property wide enough to park a
tractor? ....
