To do it right, and up to accepted practice, you want the bottom of the pipe to be below frost line, and the top of the pipe to have at least two feet of dirt above it, not even considering the plowing over it part. The idea is that when you drive over the tile the force is distributed around it, rather than through it. Also, tile is sort of obsolete, having been replaced by perforated PVC. The most common PVC used for this is 4" DVW (drain,vent,waste). It is real cheap, litle about $3- for 10 feet. It is also pretty thin wall. I put some pipe in my field, but I was worried about the possibility of it being crushed by my tractor, or by a horse hoof. I must admit, I probably didn't go down two feet, and I know I wasn't below the frost line, cuz I was digging by hand and that got old real quick. I wound up using 4" Schedule 40, which is a lot thicker and stronger than DVW. I could not get it perforated without special ordering it, so I perforated it myself with an electric drill and a 1/2 inch wood boring bit. Have fun
