You need a corn crib, either the wire mesh ones (looks like woven wire, only much heavier), or a wooden one. The snowfence idea is very poor and will usually result in the need for something to haul the rotten corn away in. If picked below 30% moisture, it should keep tillmid summer. However, I've done a little shelling in my time, and that is a cold weather deal. Anything over about 60 degrees and you'll have problems standing. Unless your a real man (or a Marine). In Iowa, I don't know anyone that will buy ear corn, other than maybe a cow operation. In fact, I don't know of too many people picking corn. The wire cribs with tin roofs can be bought for almost nothing. They need a large, heavy concrete base with a tunnel up the middle for a drag. Best be it to find an old unused wood or wire crib in the area and offer the owner some rent for its use. Aaron
