From practical experience (and being a cheapskate), I always figured in what I was hauling on the trailer and what kind of trailer it is to figure if balancing the tires is worthwhile. If it's a big trailer (i.e. cars or livestock) and I'm hauling anything of consequence (neighbor's angus beef) very far, it's worth balancing the tires. But if I'm hauling trash or junk somewhere (and don't have far to go), or its my skanky old utility trailer, I don't worry with it. I wind up picking up an old roofing nail in the tires just about every trip out to the landfill anyway! Jim
