Payback Time

The situation is this: For years now, one Saturday a month, my wife travels 125 miles to have her hair done at a beauty shop in a different town. The reason she does this is that this particular shop is the only one that can “Do it right”. Since I do the bookwork around here, I see these canceled checks coming in once a month from this beauty shop amounting to between $180 and $300. Every month. Sometimes, I will go with her and either get a haircut, roam around town looking at stuff, or just sit in the car and read. The most expensive thing I have ever bought on one of these little outings is a cup of coffee. No, I take that back, one time I had the oil changed in the car while I waited; it came to $38. Therefore, over the years, her spending during these excursions has mounted up to a considerable sum, while my expenditures have stayed somewhat controlled, in my opinion. This coming Saturday is the appointment day yet once again. I know where there is a sweet little JD 50 sitting down there, which is for sale. I think I’ll ride along with her tomorrow and see if I can catch her completely off guard. :>) Allan
