The first tractor I ever owned was a 3000 Ford. Mine was a 1974 model. Since ANY 3000 you might be looking at is at least 28 years old, it doesn't really matter what year, as much as what CONDITION. They are(were) decent tractors. Fair power, nice handling, and all the options that make for a good tractor. Just make sure it's in good shape. From what I've seen of them, they don't have the "life expectancy" of the 135 MF.
All things being equal, the 135 is the best little tractor ever made. Then again, that is no promise that the one you're looking at will be the best 135 ever. You be the judge of that.
If both tractors are about equal in condition, then I'd say the loader will make the difference. Just keep in mind that the loader is USELESS if the tractor doesn't run.
Sight unseen, I'd give my vote to the 135.
Hope this helps, John

Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
