Leave the solenoid out if you want to. Break the lines loose at all 8 fittings going into the cylinder heads. Don't bother with the little T on the top of the pump if you have fuel here.
Charge up the batteries. NOW, pump like crazy on the primer and spin the engine over till fuel comes out all eight lines. STOP. Tighten all 8 lines. Pump like crazy and starter up. To shut it off depress the lever in the solenoid mount hole.
