John, after retiring early from engineering I then became an attorney and your question indicates you may be worried as to legal ownership?? Since there are no certificates of title to those tractors and you are in possession of it, its basically legally yours unless someone can show superior title. When you purchase it and get a bill of sale identifying it by serial number and model etc. such provides evidence you were a good faith purchaser which gives you good title unless a prior possessor can prove it was his and was stolen. Always get signed bill of sale type receipts showin dates and models and serial numbers etc when you purchase untitled personal property. John T in Indiana
