from your reply, it sounds like the clutch is out.i had a tractor that done just the same thing about going into gear and the clutch was out. you might try to see if there is an access hole for the clutch under the tranny sheetmetal on either side of the tranny/bellhousing area. sometimes there is a access hole that a skinny bar or screwdriver can be inserted to pry the clutch loose if it get stuck. mind you this is just a guess, but the clutch could be just stuck. i am leaning toward the clutch being out, however. as far as the lack of fluid, there could be hydraulic pump damage from running dry/or too low and possible damage to the rockshaft valve also.whatever action you take make sure the tractor motor is OFF when fooling around with the clutch area, even when adjusting the clutch. be safe!
