Matthew; doesn't really address your questions, but the primary reason I've bought/driven 3/4 or 1 ton trucks for the last 35 years is the full-floating rear axles (truck axles) as opposed to the automobile types in 1/2 ton trucks.......although did I read somewhere that some late model GM 3/4 ton models had the single bearing type???
