Sounds just like an old Case 530 CK loader/hoe I was around. nothing breaks or shears, the splines on a shaft just wear out so nothing is left to drive the pump just ahead of the crankshaft. On the one I was around the shaft and pump were both replaced, Lots of $$$$$$$ but that was 30 yrs ago....
