It sounds like it is time for a overhaul/rebuild. You did not mention how long it has been since this tractor has run. Sometimes when they set for a long time, internal parts will have a combination of dried congealed oil/grease and rust on the valve stems, the valve seats, cylinder walls, rings, etc. If the tractor has set for several years, I would try to run it with a combination of 10w30 oil with, Rislone, Marvel mystery oil OR auto trans fluid. I prefer Rislone for this purpose. Sometimes, a motor that was sound will clean up and come alive after 30 minutes or so of run time.
