a few years ago i rebuilt a 8n for a friend and he drove the tractor to my plase when i tore it down i have absulutly no idea how it ran on 3 of the cylenders you could see along side the pistons the oil pan had so much sludge in it i had to pry it off the engine becouse the sludge was over the pick up for the oil pump it had all miss matched parts in the thing someone had about 6 tractor into putting this one together but i rebuilt her completly it does run alot better but i am really amazed that it ran in the condition its in and if you do go to rebuild your 8n parts are really cheap for them good luck
