That picture reminds me of the countryside where I live. Or at least it reminds me of here in a good year. We started the season with temps in the upper 80"s in March. Usually around mid 40"s. That jumpstarted everything. Then in April we got Feb weather. low 20"s for 3 weeks straight. Everything froze. Most of our trees are about half leaved out, hay was poor for the first cutting. Now it"s dry. We"re about 8" behind for the year and just now hitting the dry season. April and May are normally wet months. We had 1.20" in April and .33" in May. Corn is stressed, soybeans are barely out of the ground, hayfields look like they"ve been hit with Round-Up, pastures are getting bare, and lakes and streams are drying up. There"s a 60% chance of showers tomorrow, but it"ll probably be too little too late. Another week to 10 days of dry weather predicted after tomorrow. Hay prices are usually at their lowest right about now and they"re hitting all-time highs here. I sell what little hay I bale. My first cutting is already gone. It was about 1/2 of what I was hoping for. May not be a second cutting at this rate. Other than that, not bad thank you.
