Well, I was 5 or 6 yrs old when I solo'd on Dad's '51 M for the first time..... If You can at least follow the illustrations in the operator's manual of the later model Letter Series Farmalls let alone understand the printed text You should have no problems operating the tractor safely and easily. If it was Me I'd jump up a model or two newer to a 300/350/400/450/340/460/560 because most of them did have power steering from the factory, esp. the 350/450/340/460/560's. All had live PTO and live hyd. and many had IH's Fast-Hitch which is actually superior to the 3-point hitch. The 300 & 350 and also the 330 model were also avail. as Utility tractors that had all the above features plus were low profile with wide front ends. Spend a few $$$$$ at Barnes & Nobel for a book by Ken Updike called "IH Number Series tractors, 1955-1985" and see what all these tractors look like. Never hurts to buy a little more tractor or HP than what You really need either. Esp. if the $$$$ is right. The work You find for It to do will grow into the capabilities of the tractor You chose.
