Know nothing about your European tractors. But if you have put 500 mi on it through mountainous terrain it could have condensed water in the housing and foamed when hot. If not changed when restored or parked out in weather it could have leaked in. Either way changing oil will help for short term. Sounds like a fun way to see the world. Good luck.
