Have to agree with some of what you say although to make a blanket statement that all RVrs need a CDL is going a little overboard; A profeciency test, yes. I run a diesel pusher motorhome. Have driven big stuff most of my life. I know air brakes, I understand air brakes, I have studied the CDL manuals and thought about taking the test. When I look around and start taking "practice test" and realize they want you to parrot back an answer straight from the book especially on the "pre-drive" inspection, much of it non applicable, I say to myself, "Forget it, I do not need this kind of crap". There is just too much in the CDL test that has no application to motorhomes. You see unsafe RVs. I see unsafe trucks. Granted, I feel most truck drivers are true professionals and drive as such. I feel most RVrs are decent drivers. BTW, I have been driving legally for over 40 years, hundreds of thousands of miles, with no accidents or contributions to any that I know about and I am aware of my surroundings. jmho, ray
