Well there was a choice a few years back and the public wanted cheaper at the time and different so most companies were bought up sold out bankrupt and that includes john deere ask my dealer ,few make all their own parts ,tractors and or that includes equipment. I was with ford a long time and they even allowed inside competion against thier own dealers . Example our dealership would call up the central northeast warehouse and make a deal on all the cabs , or going to be discontinued items parts etc. that meant any other dealer had to go through us we made a buck and then some bought lower by buying all there was going to be. Now I was only a salesman not owner so dont get mad at me. this meant if you didnt like our dealership and couldnt get it from your dealer well that meant foreighn or none. Our parts inventory was super large we had everypart including some housings ,motors, plow parts by the train car loads in stock. Now look what we have ,what is made here, that doesnt include over seas parts or ownership. I cant blame dealers they have very little cash to dump into thousands of parts and thousand of dollars hoping they will get their money back someday. They pay large floor plans and interest, they have to buy next years models and make their qouta.
