I have an Oliver 1600 I'm restoring, and I noticed a crack in the tub. Would welding it cause any harm? I've welded cast before, and I know the proper procedure, but any pointers for welding on a vertical plane? I've heard the preheat thing, but never actually did it. What does this do? about how far away from the crack do I have to go with the preheat? Please help, I don't want to have to buy a new tub for my tractor. Donovan from Wisconsin
