Yes, but with an Oxy-Acetylene torch you can also do a fine job on those needles too. In my opinion the baler needles hold together better with brazing than with nickel arc rod. The bronze seems to be more flexible. Tack one side, then vee the other side. Braze the vee, then vee the side you tacked first. Then braze the second vee. Cool verrrrrrrrrrrry slowly. Grind smooth. Be sure you get the timing exact when you put it back together or you'll break them off again. (Maybe you already figured that out.)
