yea mcmaster-carr sure is tough to get a catalog from,a while back i had ordered some stuff from them for my own use, around 150 bucks of stuff, and i asked if they would send me a catalog, well they said they would submit my request to there catalog department, well about 3 weeks later i got a letter in the mail that said that to keep cost down they only send there catalogs to "industrial users",and this was after i had bought stuff from them. well a while later i figured i would request a catalog of my own at work since my boss and i had been sharing a catalog which can be a pain, well i called them up and gave them the company name and they ran me thru a whole list of names of people in my company which they had sent catalogs too and asked if any of them were from the same department and why i couldnt use one of theres. well luckly i was finaly able to get our buyer at work to get me a catalog from them, and luckly she got my boss a new one too so i grab his old one and brought it home. its amazing how they gaurd there catalogs, but if ya can get ahold of one it is definatly worth it,they have everything ya could ever imagine. another good company for fasteners and tools is MSC,they have a website and they will send ya a catalog thats twice the size of mcmaster-carrs one. MSC will send a catalog to ya no matter who ya are,no questions asked, and if ya order something from them they send will continue to send ya catalogs every year.
