Similar things are happening DownUnder. The big farmers get bigger, the small get squeezed out. Economy of scale, they call it. Trouble is when a BIG outfit goes under, it usually takes a LOT of smaller businesses with it - or at least hurts them. If a small farmer goes under, most of the people he deals with can at least ride it out. It may inconvenience them to whatever degree, but it is seldom bankrupting. Not being an expert on U.S. law, I'm not much help. At times like this, I wonder if a good Jailhouse Lawyer might help. (See link below.)
Even if he can't help, you may get a laugh out of it. Does any federal dept have any jurisdiction over this burning situation? Is there a NATIONAL farmers organisation that might be of some use. Is there a national current affairs program on TV where the facts can be aired, i.e. how many farmers are being put out of business and how many people are being left out of work by this situation, how it is affecting supplies of the product, etc.? The old saying, 'It's the squeeky wheel that gets the oil' is quite often still true. I notice your NRA makes a LOT of noise when it disagrees with anything.
