hydrualic pump ???

just put a prince pto pump on my sherman backhoe it is 20 gpm at 600 rpm rated but only run it 350-400 holds 10 gal not counting any rams it works ok for about 10 min but as it warms up pressure goes away put a gauge on pressure line when warm it has about 400 pounds press (obviuosly not enough) was supposed to be new pump dont think it is relief valve as it worked with other pump when it does this the oil is warm but can hold finger in it is just warm maybe 100-125 deg. any ideas thanks mike
