From my experience the Olympus C2100 ultrazoom cannot be beat! Features like a 10x OPTICAL zoom (not digital zoom...), optical image stabilization (can shoot at high zoom magnifications without a tripod), outstanding low light performance, long battery life and overall simplicity of use make it ideal for tractor shows, pulls, etc. The camera is also robust - the lens zoom mechanism is totally enclosed (unlike most other long zoom cameras) so it not bothered the inevitable dust, etc. at tractor shows. This C2100 is only 2 meg resolution camera. However it makes outstanding enlargements to 8 x 10 and larger. And being a 2 meg camera it doesn't fill up memory cards as fast as higher resolution cameras. This image, and all images in the album in the link below were shot with my C2100.
