The seller writes the check to the auctioneer. That's pretty clear. Ther auctioneer will answer to the seller first - always.

Look the item over, figure out what it is worth to you, and bid. That's pretty fair.

Layer upon layer of govt regulation only makes money for people with govt jobs and insurance companies. I've seen what happened to the real estate community - yuk. A ton of legal papers, high insurance premiums, and you still have cheaters - just more sophisticated. Big help that is!

If buyers are responsible for doing their homework & knowing what they are doing, everyone walks away happy & at least cost.

Cheaters will always find cracks in the 'system', so I don't see the point of endlessly chasing them down with more & more govt regulations in a simple auction. It only costs all of us.

I don't like the cheats & bad auctioneers, don't misunderstand me! But in these transactions, 'sold as is where is' is a pretty simple and fair concept to all - seller & buyer. I wish people would do their homework, instead of run to the govt to always 'protect' them. Why complicate things and make them more expensive?

Over-regulate yet another industry, so only a few can compete in it, and watch the premiums rise dramatically and kill it off totally. And we'd STILL have the cheats, so it would still be up to the buyer to be knowledgeable & watch his own business.

Yuk.

Guess I have an opinion on this. :)
