I don't farm, which is good in that the drought has been bad enough and I don't real on agricultural production for my living. Drought and bushfires down south have made the last two years not particularly pleasant. I normally don't like to get into the political debates as no one can convince anyone else of anything as emotion becomes involved. I think the people who want peace are not supporting Saddam but are concerned for the civilian people of Iraq who really don't have much say in things. As with most countries, even the US and Australia they rely on the media to give them information. The media can be used as an effective tool to shape feelings. I am sure they only hear how unfairly they have been treated and hence hate the US and UK. In an effort to muster support for military action the US and Australian media tries to present all the arguments against the Iraqi nation. World War 2 was a much easier affair, clear to see in hindsight and I think even at the time which was right and wrong. This time it is a little more blurry. There is no direct link between Saddam and Bin Ladin, true they both don't like the US but that is it. Many people are worried about destabilisation of the Middle East. I think consideration of all eventualities is not such a bad thing to do as I think World war 3 will not do anyone any good.
