TC, I recall a conversation with an old instructor pilot,Clem we'll call him, while I was training in the F-102 after my first Southeast Asia tour. (Clem, an old LT Col, received THREE Silver Stars during his F-105 Weasel tour in SEA.) Naturally, I treasured every bit of advice I could get from him. Clem asked me, a bachelor, how I liked the girls in North Central Texas, where we were training. I told him that I had only met gals who had married right after high school and divorced, with two kids, at the age of 22, who were looking for someone to pay the rent. He spit some tobacco juice and said: "if the gals don't meet your standards, you need to lower your standards a little". Good advice. More good advice: find a gal who likes Ford trucks and IH/Farmalls BECAUSE YOU LIKE THEM. Then, you'll be happy.
