Hi Charles, I've read on several mfg websites that theres 1% loaded front axle weight difference from 4" "behind " axle center to 4" in front of axle center. So it's really where you want it. I have mine on axle center line. You do realize that the 3/4" plate will deflect about 1/2" or more depending on pin weight? I did a series of test last month on using 3/4" plate, added 1/4"x2"x2" tube on both edges of the 3/4" plate and still deflected 1/4" at about 3000lbs. I used a 2ton hydraulic jack with a chain for simulated pin weight. What this does is pulls on your frame rails every time it deflects. I'm working with a 2K2 F350, DRW. I redesigned and went to a 3/8" plate pryamid design 12" high. Theres no deflection with this design. I'm "inbed" so I'm not wanting to crush the bed SM nor flex my frame rails. T_Bone
