Power blocks were sold by the Tractor Supply Company, for various two cylinder John Deere tractors. It was an effort to increase displacement and achieve higher horsepower. The "quality" of the actual powerblock is not as good as the original John Deere, but the bigger pistons and greater displacement make up for that. As for shop instructions, I would thingk that the powerblock casting is similar enough to the original, that any instructions regardong the original would apply to the powerblock---except for the specifications for the pistons, etc. Powerblocks are not available, new, anymore.
