I agree that as a group Canadians are some of the nicest people you could ever meet, and their country has to among the most beautiful in Gods creation. Still wonder we my family left Nova Scotia 5 generations ago. (Actually I know, JOBS)However, their Gov't is even screwier than ours. Living on the NY/Canada border I listen to Canadian radio alot. They don't think anywhere near as much of us we would like to think they do. Or perhaps I should say their media doesn't. As far as getting back across the border into the good ol'USofA, it's OUR guys giving the problems. Wouldn't you think that seeing the same grey haired couple every saturday afternoon for 10-12 years on their way back from bingo would exclude that couple from "the 5th degree"? Not anymore. But, as I was told by a Customs agent, applying common sense is too much like profiling and thats not kosher. One of my fellow officers had her car searched and documentation reviewed at length, by an Immigration Inspector we had worked with many times, because she was "car number 10" and they always do that to the 10th car. Sheesh!
