You're right about that being a "lot of wood." The plank walls are 2" thick, 24" wide and the height of the house. The split rail lath is nailed right to those boards and the horsehair plaster is slapped over that. Needless to say, insulation is a problem. Good thing I'm tough! No heat wave in this house.
