John Deere came out with a handy-dandy little attachment for hand cranking the later model horizontal two-bangers.The ones with the flywheel cover. We maybe not so handy. First you take off the steering wheel. Then pry off the little cover in the center of the flywheel shroud. Install the claw like attachment to the steering wheel with the same nut that held it on the steering shaft. Enngage the claw with the pin in the end of the crankshaft.Turn the steering wheel as if you were turning left and wala. Any one that I know who ever tried this had an extra steering wheel with the attachment installed hanging up on the wall of the shed! Ed
