Allen, I would check with any local rental places and see if you could rent a machine and operate it yourself. I rented a JD 200 excavator for a week at the cost of $1200. You can do a lot of work in 40 hours of machine time. Just get every thing ready before you rent so the machine isn't sitting idle. Sure beats paying for any repairs and the equipment is up to date which makes the work much easier. Where I rent you can get dozers backhoes or whatever you need for the job. Your not locked into just a dozer. Stump removal is much easier with an excavator then dozer in my opinion, and isn't as easy to break.
