Asthma kept my Dad out of Vietnam. He volunteered, and was shipped to Louisville for a physical, where he was rejected due to asthma. His asthma isn't real bad, either. Of course, that was a long time ago and I don't know how Army policy has changed about stuff like that. Good luck in whatever you decide. Fireman ps - My Grandmother said that was the first time she ever thanked God for my Dad's asthma.
