This is a decision that cannot be taken too seriously. I spent 4 years in the USMC as a 0311/Infantryman. There is nothing I have ever done in life I am more proud of. My Honorable Discharge hangs in my living room with pride. I still love the USMC and my country and at times I wish I was still in, especially when I see our guys kicking the crap out of scumbags in the world. One thing to think about though, IF you sign, serve your time in full. I saw guys trying to get out for bogus medical, phycological, hardship etc reasons just because they couldn't take it. I always looked at those guys like they are the lowest form of life on Earth. How could you face your family/friends as a quitter? I feel that all American kids should serve their country for at least two years. No greater honor accrues any citizen, than honorable service to their country. It certainly helped me become a man. I grew up at Parris Island, SC. Whatever you decide, Best of luck to you.
