HI forum

A 22 mag is a little small for the gut shooting , I think that is heart less to do with that small of a gun. Before any of you jump me about animal lover , you bet. Love all of God's animals the best way I can. Please take a bigger gun , shotgun or rifle down load a bit, to do that if you must.

22 mag energy ME would be around 100-200
22 short ME 40-60
22 Long ME 60-100

It would take around 500 at least to kill it with in a fair amount of time, like a day or longer.

Now a very high velossity ( spelling) fast in the right size like 300 ackly 130 gr bullet 30 ca. going at 3600 or faster would just about kill it in its tracks or at least with a big whole going out the other side. It may go but not too far would die in first 1/4 mile. 3-4 hours at most.

Back to arrows , here in PA I worked as a deer cutter , not a butcher, a meat cutter. Yes there is a differents. The old friend that show me was close to 80 started when he was 9 cut meat for a living. It is funny how they can go the deer with arrows gun shots etc. out of 300 deer average he did for all of those years he said that he would find two -three arrows , and a about the same broken bones and gun injures that would heal over a year so about 2 % is about right , the short time I cut with him we found one arrow head still there all amost a foot long 1/2 " away from the spine right between the shoulder blades.

Love God's animal's kill when and if you have to.

Punchie
