One thing's for sure, Massey Ferguson doesn't own an oil refinery. They have to buy their oil from somebody and label it as theirs. What every you use in the Cummins would be fine, more important to change often than what it is. Too many people want to use the high $$$ synthetics and then stretch the drain intervals. I've rebuilt a world of engines at low hours for people who tried this. I overhaul anywhere from 10-20 diesels a year and can't tell much difference on the inside regardless of oil used, as long as it was changed. Rotella, Quaker State, Pennzoil, and the synthetics all appear to wear about the same to me. Valvoline used to leave a lot of deposits on gas engines, haven't been in a Valvoline engine except really old in 5 or 6 yrs. For the record I used Quaker State for 20 years (HDX 30). We put about 300-500 hrs per year on each tractor. Never had but one of my own that I got new that I had to touch the engine and it was run without any oil. Changed to 15w40 Rotella when I got a diesel pickup and just changed over.
