I've never had a Michelin blowout, but I've never been satified with the tread wear mileage of Michelin tires. The best tires I ever had was a set of Sears tires on my 1950 Dodge car; don't know who made them, but they went way beyond normal mileage. Come to think of it, that was the second best car I ever owned. Back to the topic of corporate warranty, my view (as a former sales and service manager)is that it is the job of the service department to say "NO" to try to hold down warranty costs, so think beyond the service dept. It is the job of the sales dept. to say "YES" and order the service dept. to make the customer happy because they know what dis-satisfied customers can do to their sales. It is the job of the corporate executives to look at the situation and decide whether they want to stiff the customer or stay in business on a long-term basis. So go wherever you have to go to get satisfaction. And if you can't get satisfaction, get revenge by not buying from them ever again! Companies can't continue to exist on one-time sales - and company executives know that, unless they graduated from the Harvard School of Business (but that's a whole 'nother topic).
